Fiona Victoria Hopkins studied screen acting under international acting coach Lisa Pescia in Los Angeles, after completing a Masters in Classical Acting from the Central School of Speech and Drama, London. She has performed widely in the UK and Europe, appearing in a number of films, including the horror features "Doghouse" and "A Landscape Of Lies", as well as the lead role of Neptuna in the Canadian TV series, "Clay's POV".
Want to get some experience acting with a camera? Want to find out what happens when filming TV commercials, soaps like Home and Away, action scenes, drama series and sit-coms? You'll get a chance to do that in Screen Acting 101. Through a series of in-studio exercises, you'll learn the basics of screen acting and gain more confidence in front of the camera. Every week you'll put your acting skills to good use by working with scripts from different genres and screen formats.
Week 1: Camera familiarity - get comfortable!
Week 2: TV commercials. What makes them tick?
Week 3: Action - the key to screen acting. It's all about show, don't tell.
Week 4: Soaps. What is a soap? Why are they so popular? How do soaps contribute to an actor's career?
Week 5: The closeup. The importance of the eyes and facial expression in screen.
Week 6: The sitcom. It's a TV staple - so what makes them special?
Week 7: Locations. What does it mean to shoot "on location?" Tonight we unpack it.
Week 8: The scene. How do we make magic in a single scene? Learn tonight.
