Part-time Subject Selections for Semester 2, 2016
In Semester 2, 2016, Certificate III students are moving to the Certificate IV course. This means there are some necessary changes to the timetable and course content.
You can opt to do one session or two sessions per week. This semester you can choose from the following study times:
Term 3 (25 July - 23 September)
Tuesday - Movement
Wednesday - Professional Practices, followed by On Stage
Thursday - Professional Practices, followed by On Stage
Saturday - The Actor's Process
Full weekend - Auditions
Term 4 (3 October - 2 December)
Tuesday - The Actor's Process
Wednesday - On Stage (continuing from Term 3)
Thursday - On Stage (continuing from Term 3)
Saturday - Movement
A note on intensives:
Some subjects have weekend intensives (these are compulsory components of the units studied). Before selecting a class, please make sure you are available for the intensive as well as the weekly class.
This semester you can also opt to do a weekend intensive in which you will complete a whole unit on Auditions (Sept 10-11).
Nominating your classes:
Classes will be filled on a first-in, best-dressed basis. If one class fills up you may need to be put in another class.

The Actor's Process (replaces the old 'Off the Page')
Learn how to analyse a script for clues and develop a process for character development.

Saturdays, 10-1.30pm, all Term 3 + weekend intensive (20-21 Aug) OR
Tuesdays, 6-9.30pm, all Term 4 + weekend intensive (29-30 Oct)
Movement (replaces the old 'Into The Space')
An actor needs to integrate body, mind and voice into a performance. In Movement you will explore a range of acting techniques as they pertain to physical movement. Say goodbye to wooden movement on stage and screen!

Professional Practice (New unit)
What are the professional expectations upon the actor these days? What attitudes and behaviours must you bring to the actor's workplace, to be taken seriously? This unit will help you answer these questions.

On Stage (replaces the old 'On Stage' unit)
Be cast in a play and participate in a full rehearsal and performance process. Learn about the theatrical environment and industry expectations.
