Actors often need to do their own makeup when working on independent productions. In this one-day workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of makeup for stage and screen. Learn about face shape, skin care, makeup tools, highlighting, aging techniques, and some simple special effects (scarring and bruising) - so that next time you are prepping for a show or film, you can do your own face or assist with others. Suitable for men and women. When: Sunday, May 6, 10am-5pm Where: CADA Studios, 11 Whyalla St, Fyshwick Tutor: Melissa Georgiou Cost: $200 (includes a free makeup starter kit!)
Melissa Georgiou holds a Bachelor of Arts (Performing Arts) and teaches voice to actors and singers at CADA across a range of programs. She has recently returned from working in Canada and the United States, both directing and acting as vocal coach with the PreSchool Play program - a show that reached 1 billion views even before it went to China. In her teaching, Melissa uses techniques and principles based on scientific research to help students understand the structure and quality of the voice, and to sing without vocal strain. Melissa aims to help her students achieve magical performances.
