Canberra Academy of Dramatic Art
Good comic timing is the difference between a laugh-out-loud and... crickets. In this course you will work with a range of comic texts from plays and screenplays to practice developing your comic timing as an actor. Explore the ins and outs of comedy on stage and screen and investigate what makes something funny. Learn about visual, verbal and physical comedy among other forms, and take a leaf out of the book of some of the comic masters. Each week you'll have opportunity to work through exercises or scripts to enhance your comic instinct - while also getting feedback from an experienced comic performer. Discover that's it's not about funny eyeglasses and cream pies - but sometimes they do have a role to play!
