Speech Communication
"My daughter and I both benefit greatly from your weekly lesson. I've got very favourable feedback on my recent presentation at work, hearing people say to me, "It feels like a new person emerged." In terms of my daughter, you've magically turned her from a shy girl to a very confident speaker."- Rui Wang, on speech classes with CADA.
In addition to drama studies, CADA offers speech communication classes for different age groups. As a discipline, speech communication includes things like:

- Forming and expressing opinions
- Debating
- Understanding and using language
- Reading aloud with clarity and expression
- Poetry interpretation and recital
- Accent modification
- Correction of minor speech defects
- Confidence in speaking with and in front of others
- Speaking to the media and the spokesperson role
- Practical media skills - reporting, broadcasting, voiceover, etc
- Vocal training and development

Speech for 4-6 year-olds
We recommend our "Speech Bubbles" program, which is a combined speech and drama program focusing on speaking in front of others, correct pronunciation, communication skills, and creative drama. Cost is $150 for a 10-week term.
For young children who have particular speech problems or who would benefit more from one-on-one work with a teacher, please call us on 1300 908 905 to find out about vacancies in our private teaching schedule.
Speech for 7-17 year olds
CADA offers small classes grouped according to age and ability. Students work on all aspects of speech communication, and if they wish, they can compete in the Australian National Eisteddfod and work towards exams in association with the Australian Speech Communication Association (ASCA). Some students join in order to develop self-confidence or overcome shyness, while others are gifted speakers who want to extend their existing talents. We cater to both. There are also private lessons available on a Wednesday afternoon, but currently there is a waiting list for these.
Students may join at any point during a school term.
